What's your identity

As soon as a baby is born, his/her footprints are taken as proof for his birth certificate.

This birth certificate is proof, of the child, to whom he belongs(as his parent's details are included).

These days, a person has their own verified identity.

For everything and everywhere, we need to give some sort of identity proof.

Today, I want to think on, what is our identity in Christ.

This world would give us a lot of other identities other than I.D proofs.

Some might know us as young angry souls, but few will address our beauty, color or race, height or weight.

Our professionalism too will give us some identity, such as, very honest, hardworking, lazy, or pathetic.

Numerous things define us. We are sometimes very careful to live it up to portray a perfect identity and while doing so, we somehow forget to be honest and genuine. And of course, no one really cares who we actually are.

But there is one person who cares. Who wants our true self, be it in the most devastating state or the most beautiful.

He wants our hearts, be it in agony or in abundance joy.

Peter was in a devastated state, after fishing the whole night and found none.

Mathew was having a broken heart, filled with shame, at his tax collection booth.

Simon the zealot, was in his extremism.

Mary Magdalene was in a sinful state.

They all met that person and heard His voice, which said, "Follow me", and that changed everything.

Their shame, fear, anxiety, hurt, pride, and sin was cast away and they were renewed and given a new identity, as followers of Christ.

Today, what hurts you, what makes you feel ashamed of yourself, what is that very thing which you never what to think about that you have ever done.

Is the shame so big and the pain so deep that you do not want to face even Christ, who gave it all for you.

The Bible says He will forgive all our sins and inequities.

You don't have to run away from Him, instead, stay where you are and wait for Him.

He will deliver you from evil. You just have to stay still and know He is God. Listen to His whisper, "Follow me". Then see, how your lost peace comes back to you.

His abundant mercies are new every day.

And are enough for us to say, we are just miry clay and onto Him, let my heart and soul lay.

I am new today and my identity is
in Christ, can you say?
